Karla Križanić comes from Petrinja, Croatia.
 
She graduated from the Secondary Music School "Fran Lhotka" Sisak in 2014 in the class of Prof. Danijela Klarić-Mimica, and one year later she enrolled at the Arts Academy in Split to study Flute Performance in the class of prof. Ana Domančić- Krstulović and prof. Marko Zupan, which she successfully completed in 2020.
 
During her studies, she won numerous awards at regional, national and international competitions, but the most significant awards were the Rector's Award for Excellence (2017) for achievements in the first year of study, followed by the Dean's Award (2020), another Dean's Award (2021) and the Special Dean's Award (2020) for successes achieved during her Bachelor and Master studies.
 
She has spent her academic year 2018/2019 studying at the Hochschule für Musik "Franz Liszt" in Weimar (Germany) through the ERASMUS + student mobility program, in the class of prof. Nikolai Jaeger and prof. Benjamin Plag.
 
Her most significant successes were participating as a member of the Academic Orchestra of the Academy of Arts in Split during the performance of the operetta "Kraljica lopte" by Ivo Tijardović (2017), solo concert with the Croatian National Theater in Split (2018), participation in the "Aurora Music" festival in Stockholm (Sweden, 2018) as a member of the "Aurora Symphony Orchestra", participation in the Bauhaus Festival in Gera on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Bauhaus School of Architecture and Applied Arts and as a member of the Franz Liszt Academy Symphony Orchestra in Weimar (Germany, 2019).
 
Karla occasionaly works as a flute teacher in music school and gives private lessons.She is still working on improving her musical skills while attending many masterclasses and workshops, many of them being in point of different professions that help upgrading her musical background.
She is also a member of Duo Richter and frequently collaborates with the chamber orchestra of Opera B.B.
